I am interested in hearing from Thanjavur Marathi speakers as I am working on a book about Thanjavur Marathi. If you were born and grew up away from Thanjavur, I want to hear about how you learnt Thanjavur Marathi.
I was born in Dhanbad, Bihar, far away from Thanjavur. I learnt TM from my parents and siblings. Currently, I am a faculty member in the Dept. of Asian and Asian American Studies and Linguistics at SUNY-Stony Brook. I am trying to document how TM emerged, who speaks it, and how and why this language has survived for so long. Why do we continue using TM?
Any help my TM friends can give me will be acknowledged and gratefully accepted.
